Over 9,000 Evangelical Leaders Conclude Joint Prayer Event in World’s Largest Muslim Country

By Luiza Oleszczuk – Christian Post Reporter – May 19, 2012

Friday concluded five days of prayer and discussion for more than 9,000 evangelical church leaders from over 60 countries who assembled in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, for the World Prayer Assembly (WPA), a grand Evangelical event that kicked off Monday after four years of preparations.

The WPA, believed to be the world’s largest Christian intercessory prayer event, reportedly received permission from the government of the predominantly Muslim country, and home to the world’s largest Muslim population, to invite Christians from countries like Pakistan, Afghanistan, India, Nigeria, Laos, Vietnam, Egypt, China, and even North Korea. The WPA events were held at the 11,000-seat Sentul International Convention Center in Jakarta and other venues.

Each day, participants were able to select from a dozen or more workshops and seminars addressing a variety of issues confronting the global church. All week, a 24-7 prayer room has been filled with people, sources said.

Thursday night, leaders were joined by other Indonesian Christians, all of whom together amounted to over 100,000, sources told CP, nearly making the 80,000-seat Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta, where they assembled for a church service, burst at the seams. The evangelical leaders joined their prayers and minds to ponder the best ways of spreading the Gospel to the largest territory possible and instigate unity within Christianity itself, sources told The Christian Post.

Egypt’s Islamists to Grant ‘Sex After Death’ Right for Husbands

Posted by Rick Moran Bio ? on Apr 27th, 2012

Egypt’s Islamists  have outraged the civilized world by proposing several pieces of legislation that begin the process of rolling back the meager gains made by women in that country over the last decade.

The first proposed law would lower the legal age a girl can marry to 14. The second proposal, inspired by a fatwa from a Moroccan cleric, would grant husbands permission to have sex with their wives within 6 hours of their death.

Another Islamist-sponsored piece of legislation would repeal the right of women to seek a divorce from an abusive husband without obstruction from her spouse. Still another proposal would mandate the barbaric practice of female circumcision.

Five Reasons Christians Should Continue to Oppose Gay Marriage

Friday, May 11, 2012 – By Kevin DeYoung , CP Guest Contributor

Yesterday, to no one’s surprise, President Obama revealed in an interview that after some “evolution” he has “concluded that for me personally it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same sex couples should be able to get married.” This after the Vice-President came out last Sunday strongly in favor of gay marriage. Not coincidentally, the New York Times ran an article on Tuesday (an election day with a marriage amendment on one ballot) about how popular and not controversial gay television characters have become. In other words, everyone else has grown up so why don’t you? It can seem like the whole world is having a gay old time, with conservative Christians the only ones refusing to party.

The temptation, then, is for Christians go silent and give up the marriage fight: “It’s no use staying in this battle,” we think to ourselves. “We don’t have to change our personal position. We’ll keep speaking the truth and upholding the Bible in our churches, but getting worked up over gay marriage in the public square is counter productive. It’s a waste of time. It makes us look bad. It ruins our witness. And we’ve already lost. Time to throw in the towel.” I understand that temptation. It is an easier way. But I do not think it is the right way, the God glorifying way, or the way of love.

Here are five reasons Christians should continue to publicly and winsomely oppose bestowing the term and institution of marriage upon same-sex couples:

1. Every time the issue of gay marriage has been put to a vote by the people, the people have voted to uphold traditional marriage. Even in California. In fact, the amendment passed in North Carolina on Tuesday by a wider margin (61-39) than a similar measure passed six years ago in Virginia (57-42). The amendment passed in North Carolina, a swing state Obama carried in 2008, by 22 percentage points. We should not think that gay marriage in all the land is a foregone conclusion. To date 30 states have constitutionally defined marriage as between a man and a woman.

Obama endorses gay ‘marriage’: says support based on Jesus, Golden Rule

by Ben Johnson May 09, 2012

WASHINGTON, D.C., May 9, 2012, (LifeSiteNews.com) – President Barack Obama has flip-flopped on gay “marriage” for the second time, endorsing same-sex marriage in an interview today, in which he said his decision was motivated in part by his Christian faith and his belief in the Golden Rule.

“I’ve just concluded that for me personally, it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same-sex couples should be able to get married,” Obama told ABC News reporter Robin Roberts in an interview to air this evening.

He added that his wife, Michelle, agreed with him. “We’ve talked about it over the years and she, you know, she feels the same way,” he said.

“We are both practicing Christians and obviously this position may be considered to put us at odds with the views of others,” Obama stated, “but, you know, when we think about our faith, the thing at root that we think about is, not only Christ sacrificing Himself on our behalf, but it’s also the Golden Rule.”

He explained his foot-dragging reticence to support full same-sex “marriage” by saying he “was sensitive to the fact that, for a lot of people, the word marriage was something that evokes very powerful traditions – religious beliefs and so forth.”

RUA Party SA Great Breakthough / Many challenged by Pr Daniel Scot regarding the dangers of Islamic Sharia Law in Australia

Dear family & friends in Christ,

1) It is with great joy we announce that Rise Up Australia Party is now on track to contest the next Federal Election also in South Australia!

Pr Daniel spoke at a gathering in Adelaide on the 9th of May and was very successful in setting up a state team to run the operation in South Australia for the next Federal Election in November 2013.

Pr Daniel stated, “I am so happy to see people rising up and being willing to take a stand for our nation Australia. One main reason for this is that the general public are absolutely fed up with our current government and most political parties. We have a great opportunity to step into Parliament right now. We cannot and must not miss this wave. I have spoken to many Christians and non-Christians alike. Interestingly, the response is the same, ‘We need change’ and I say, ‘Yes, we can do it’”.

2) On Sunday, which was Mother’s Day, Pr Jenny Jack from CTFM brought a great word on ‘Why women and men are equal in the sight of God‘. Many were mightily touched by the Word and Spirit of God. Pr Daniel called all the mothers to come up to the front and then he laid hands and prayed for them. Many of them received prophetic words from the Lord and were mighty impacted by the presence and power of God.

At the evening service, Pr Daniel Scot, along with his wife, ministered the powerful Word of the Lord. He spoke on the topic of ‘Why Islamic Sharia Law is bad law’.  Many people who came to the meeting were shocked to learn as to what is real Islamic Sharia Law. Pr Daniel Scot and Pr Daniel Nalliah had both lived under Sharia Law in Pakistan & Saudi Arabia, and know very well as to how this law will destroy our nation of Australia.

This meeting was also live webcast, although the video was out, due to technical failure.  Nevertheless, we thank God that the audio carried through without any interruptions. Yesterday morning we received good feedback from those who listened to it. We are so sorry for the video dropping out.

Pr Daniel Scot’s speech was very well received by the people. He spoke of how Australia will lose its freedoms and identity if Islamic Sharia Law is introduced. He quoted many references from the Koran to back up every statement he made. This very challenging and informative message is a must watch on DVD. You may order your copy for $15 + $5 postage, by emailing angelene@reformationharvestfire.com or calling Angeline at CTFM on 03 9794 8211.

A Baby Boy Raised from the Dead

Dan Wooding : Apr 26, 2012 : ASSIST News Service

“I felt God speaking to me saying: ‘He has the right to live’. So, immediately, I put my hand over him, and started to pray…”

(Montevideo, Uruguay)—Dr. Marta Martínez is a respected doctor from Montevideo, Uruguay, who believes that God still heals the sick today. And she should know, for in an interview, Dr. Martinez told me about an extraordinary miracle that she witnessed and was personally involved with.

Dr Marta“I experienced this miracle some years ago, while I was working in a hospital in one small city, far from the capital city,” she said. “It concerned a baby who was about one month old and his mother was an adolescent and very poor.

“The baby boy had come to the hospital in a very bad condition, with malnutrition, dehydration and septicemia. There appeared to be nothing we could to do for him. Finally he died. While I was present, watching him at the moment of the death, I thought: ‘It is better for him to die, because in his environment, with his kind of family, he would have not any chance of success, the rest of his life would be a ‘Calvary’, with a lack of hope and no opportunities’.

“At that moment, I felt God speaking to me saying: ‘He has the right to live’. So, immediately, I put my hand over him, and started to pray and thank God he was ‘resurrected’—he came back to life! It was an amazing miracle.”

Dr. Martinez went on to say that the baby was then sent to “a better hospital” in Montevideo called “Filtro” for further treatment.

Islamic Sharia Law is bad law, Hear the two Danny’s to Speak on Sunday 13th May at 6.30pm at CTFM

Media Release – For immediate release

In 2002 the Islamic Council of Victoria brought an allegation of vilification against Pastor Daniel Nalliah of Catch the Fire Ministries and Pastor Daniel Scot, which resulted in a court battle that lasted for almost five years. This court case, better known as the two Danny’s case, was a highly publicized court case that received much coverage by the Australian and international media.

The two Danny’s successfully defended themselves and won the court battle for freedom of speech in the Victorian Supreme Court, when the three judges overturned the VCAT decision, clearing the two Pastors any wrong doing and upholding their basic rights of freedom of speech in a democratic nation. This decision resulted in most state governments rejecting the racial and religious vilification laws across Australia.

After ten years, the two Danny’s together will be addressing a gathering this Sunday the 13th of May at 6.30pm at the Catch The Fire Ministries base at 23 Melverton Dr in Hallam, Victoria, and will be speaking on ‘Why Islamic Sharia Law is bad law and should not be tolerated or accommodated in Australia’.

Pastor Daniel Nalliah, who is also the founding President of the new political party Rise Up Australia Party – ‘Keep Australian, Australian’, will be running a national campaign in the next federal election.

He stated this morning, “I lived and worked for two years with my family in Saudi Arabia and know very well the effects of Islamic Sharia Law. It is bad law, it is from the dark ages. We in the West should not touch it, as it completely goes against everything we stand for. France, Germany, UK and many nations in Europe who have embraced some parts of Islamic Sharia Law, under the banner of Multiculturalism, now regret doing so, although it seems a bit too late for them.

Indian mother forced to abort 5 daughters

by Peter BaklinskMon Apr 23, 2012 14:22

AHMEDABAD, India, April 23, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) – After the horrific experience of being forced to abort five daughters, a mother in India has risen from the ashes to become a champion for Indian wives and mothers who suffer abuse, rejection, and even torture from a husband or in-laws who, in a male-obsessed culture, demand a male heir, reports the Times of India.

Amisha Bhatt, 36, was coerced to undergo illegal ultrasounds to determine the sex of her babies between August 2001 and January 2009. When each test revealed that Amisha was pregnant with a girl, her husband and in-laws relentlessly forced her to abort. Her first daughter was aborted immediately after her first ultrasound visit in August 2001.

“My husband and his parents are obsessed with having a boy in the family,” Amisha told the Ahmedabad Mirror in 2009. “They don’t consider me a human being. They think I am a [baby making] machine,” she said.

“In the past nine years, they have coerced me into aborting five female fetuses.”

Click ‘like’ if you want to END ABORTION!One of Amisha’s daughters was remarkably spared the terrible fate of her sisters. “When I was pregnant the third time, I had gone for a wedding where I fell ill and was packed off to my parents’ place. This is how I gave birth to a girl child Kamya,” said Amisha to the Times of India in 2009.

ABC 4 Corners TV Program – The shocking expose of a practice hidden within Australia’s migrant communities – the forced marriage of young girls – organised by their families and supported by religious leaders

Dear friends and family in Christ,

For your ongoing prayerful interest, we’re forwarding the following video link (44 min) to ABC 4 Corners Television Program ‘Without Consent’ and written report, regarding the shocking expose of a practice hidden within Australia’s migrant communities – the forced marriage of young girls – organised by their families and supported by religious leaders.

http://www.abc.net.au/4corners/stories/2012/03/29/3466537.htm

By Sarah Ferguson and Deb Masters – April 3, 2012

What happens when young, educated, Australian-born girls are forced into unwanted marriages – often with relatives overseas?

Samia was just seventeen when her father announced he was taking her on a holiday overseas. But this was a holiday with a difference. Back in the family’s village in rural Pakistan, Samia watched in horror as the local Imam walked in ready to conduct her marriage to her first cousin – without her consent. With pressure from her extended family, she was given papers to sign and threatened.Returning to Australia, Samia sought help from local religious authorities in Sydney – but they ignored her and told her to accept the marriage.

Melbourne’s Fed Square “Undeniable” Celebration

Dear friends and family in Christ,

We’re posting the following report from Kirsten Jack in regard to the great success of the recent ‘Undeniable’ event at Federation Square in Melbourne on Sun 15th April.

Truly, Jesus is Lord over Melbourne, all of Australia and the Nations of the World!

Dear Friend,

We’re so excited to report about the ‘Undeniable’ event!

Praise God it was perfect weather, for a 7:30pm start at Fed Square. Around 2-3000 people turned up, with over 100 atheists from the Global Atheist Convention. A number of churches cancelled their Sunday night services to be there, and heaps of other churches, denominations and ministries were represented.

Our message to the city of Melbourne was that “we know God is real because He has changed our lives”. We had around 80 helpers in white t-shirts with the words “ask me my story”, who talked and prayed with people in the crowd. There were healings, deliverance, repentance and HEAPS of conversations and prayer with atheists and others. (more…)

Why Christians Must Be Involved In Politics

by Rev. Johnny Lee Clary © www.johnnyleeclary.com

There is a huge movement underway, with books being written and endorsed by pastors of large churches telling people that Christians should never be involved in politics and that if they are then they are turning unbelievers away from Christ. These books are not worth buying. Their authors are worthless because they lack knowledge and wisdom when it comes to God’s word and therefore should not be telling Christians how to live their lives.

All political power has been delegated by God. As Apostle Paul says in Romans 13:1, in speaking on the subject of civil authority, “Every person should obey the government in power. No government would exist if it hadn’t been established by God. The governments which exist have been put in place by God.”

People accuse me all the time of being disobedient to God’s word for criticizing government officials, using Romans 13:1 to justify that accusation. I always point out to them that if that is true that I am disobedient, then so were the Apostles, John and Peter. The ruling authority commanded and ordered them not to preach Jesus and they replied they must obey God rather than men. Therefore, the word of God is plain; we do not have to obey government authority when it conflicts with God’s word.

Now the key here is that when you have a government that is hostile to or just plain old anti-Christian, you must get involved with politics in order to change the government to be favorable to God’s word and the way to do that is to put Christians in power! (more…)

Christians Call on UK Prime Minister to Support ’Not Ashamed of the Cross’ Campaign

Friday, April 6, 2012 By Peter Wooding – Europe Bureau Chief for ASSIST News Service

LONDON, ENGLAND (ANS) — CHRISTIANS across the UK were today (GOOD FRIDAY) launching a campaign to urge UK Prime Minister David Cameron to turn his strong “words of support” for Christianity and its role in public life, which he expressed this week at a private ‘Easter Reception’ at Downing Street for senior church leaders, into “solid action”.

In a letter to the UK Prime Minister, nurse Shirley Chaplin, one of the four Christians involved in the cases going to Europe, said:At the reception, the Prime Minister, who attends church with his wife, Samantha, and their children, rallied over 100 senior church representatives with a strong call for the Church to be more active in British Society, backed by the Government. He said that he supported the “fight back” by the Church against rising secularism and the right of Christians to wear crosses at work and be open about their faith.

According to a Christian Concern press release his comments come at a time when many Christians, including the former Archbishop of Canterbury, Lord Carey, fear that traditional values are being airbrushed from public life. A series of court cases have handed victories to secular campaigners, as Christians have been penalised for wearing crosses to work, for not wanting to work on a Sunday or even for just sharing their faith with colleagues or clients. In a recent case a Devon council was actually barred from saying prayers at the start of official meetings.

Mr Cameron told the attendees: “I think there’s something of a fight-back going on, and we should welcome that. The values of the Bible, the values of Christianity are the values that we need.” In a separately released Easter message, Mr Cameron said the festival was a time to “remember the life, sacrifice and living legacy of Christ”.

Britain’s Christians are being vilified, warns Lord Carey

By John Bingham, Religious Affairs Editor Telegraph.co.uk – 13 Apr 2012

Christians are being “persecuted” by courts and “driven underground” in the same way that homosexuals once were, a former Archbishop of Canterbury has warned.

Lord Carey says worshippers are being “vilified” by the state, treated as “bigots” and sacked simply for expressing their beliefs.

The attack is part of a direct appeal to the European Court of Human Rights before a landmark case on religious freedom.

In a written submission seen by The Daily Telegraph, the former leader of more than 70?million Anglicans warns that the outward expression of traditional conservative Christian values has effectively been “banned” in Britain under a new “secular conformity of belief and conduct”.

His comments represent one of the strongest attacks on the impartiality of Britain’s judiciary from a religious leader.
