We’re forwarding the following clarification email that we recently received from the Victorian Government regarding the allegations of prayer, bibles, Christian activities, etc. being banned from public schools.
Dear Danny,
Thank you for your recent correspondence regarding religious observance in Victorian government schools.
Students in Victorian government schools come from many different backgrounds and follow a range of different faiths.
Freedom of religion, expression and association are important principles of our society, and are enshrined in the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (the Act).
Accordingly, students are free to bring religious materials and texts to school.
Students may also form lunchtime religious clubs with other students who share their mutual interest, with the permission of their schools.
These groups are able to invite guests to speak with them, just like any other student club or group – again, with the permission of their school.
It was never the government’s intention to ban lunchtime student prayer groups or religious clubs at school. The Minister for Education, the Hon. Martin Dixon MP, has directed his department to amend its policy guidance to be consistent with the government’s intent.
The Victorian Government continues to support the principle that freedoms of religion, association and expression must not be impeded.

Nice one. Sounds more like freedom FROM religion that’s going on in our schools. Particularly Christianity. Just watch all the secular atheists cringe when the name JESUS is mentioned.

• Let’s pray that God will raise Christian principals in every public school
• Let’s pray that God will stop violence in schools specially child abuse from clergy or others
• Let’s pray that God will provide funds to Public, Catholic, Private school to invest more money on Christian Education (Christian Values, Christian morals)
• Let’s pray that God will raise Chaplaincies in all colleges, unis, schools
• Let’s pray that directors in every Child and Adult Education will have influence on the Education system and God will raise Christian Directors
• Let’s pray that God will remove ungodly contents from school curriculum
• Please pray for all Catholics, Anglicans, other christian colleges, unis, schools that God will provide the fund to train and equip priests, ministers, chaplains, and empower them with the Holy Spirit to be a good example to our children.
Very nice and cosy for the theoretical administrators of our our outrageously expensive and counterproductive state schools: but there is a new boy on the block.
What are we to do about the Koran etc., which by definition deny “Freedom of religion, expression and association …… enshrined in the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (the Act).”?
“Accordingly, students are free to bring religious materials and texts to school.” Is incitement to emulate the goings on in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Yemen, and Gaza, a ‘religious material’?
Where is the State’s agenda for dealing with the ‘religious freedom’ demands of anti-democratic control sects?
And why are the schools of today such a drag on society?
What the State has seemingly forgotten: schools were a Church affair, and eminently successful whilst being so. Government intervention created a ‘level playing field’ which meant the lowest common denominator. The system stole our money and tied us to worse than mediocrity. Please refer to Allen S. Nothing in there to do with Islam, communism, or nazism — nor even yet the anarchy and bureaucratic frustration of blanket, publickly arranged ‘education’. Those did not rise to the fore during our first 100yrs. The basics were taken for granted, even if denominational differences existed. The basics of education are character, guidance for success in future life, and human uniqueness. Today’s ‘education’ is in defiance of the basics.
All sciences are linked, even the science of education. Interestingly, even T.H.Huxley, ‘Darwin’s bulldog’ and self-styled ‘agnostic’, demanded that public education be biblically based. He at least recognized authority and truth when he saw it — even if, personally, he failed to comprehend personal Christianity.
Science, a gift of God to humanity, incubated under the christian mindset, testifies every moment to God our creator and lover. If people wish to put Scripture right back in the education department, GOOGLE has already provided a lead. People may simply contact our educators and give them the lead. GOOGLE Australia is currently running “Questions Arising Species Origin”, top of that search; “Climate Moderation”, top or near top of that search; “Lunar Origins”, second on that search and the leading individual paper not only on moon origins but the solar system in its entirety. The first few verses of GENESIS are now easily seen to be miles ahead of the expanding universe discovery. The future of this planet and our suggested approach to environmental concerns etc. are covered. Only God can speak to such matters. And only God can help out when it comes to our schools.
