Australians Believe Prayers Have Caused Floodwaters to Recede

“We fell on our knees and we cried out to the Lord and we said ‘Lord, please forgive us and heal the land.”

(Melbourne, Australia) — CBN reports that a group of Christian intercessors recently gathered on the steps of the Victorian Parliament building in Melbourne and asked God to protect their nation from further flood devastation.

Said Pastor Danny Nalliah, who led the group: “We fell on our knees and we cried out to the Lord and we said ‘Lord, please forgive us and heal the land.”

As a result of prayer, Nalliah says floodwaters in parts of Australia have started to recede.

“In Queensland, instead of it increasing, the water started receding,” he said. “It was the collective prayers of the Body of Christ that brought the results to the nation.”

    Hi Friends,

    Just wanted to share my thoughts on what happened in our City yesterday!

    On Saturday morning 5th February, our Christian Leaders Network in Tmba. held the “Toowoomba Flood Recovery Combined Church Service” in the heart of the CBD – in the open, next to the Toowoomba City Library, the place where the inland tsunami was at its worst.

    It was quite awesome really. Our pastor from HumeRidge Church of Christ, Dale White led the service and well-known country singer, Brendon, led the worship. Rev. Dr. Mayer from Living Grace Community Lutheran Church followed with a powerful, moving message. Most churches in Tmba. were represented and most of our local councillors were there too, as were Ian MacFarlane and Mike Horan. The sounds of the service could be heard all over the city centre as we sang “IT IS WELL WITH MY SOUL” (one of my favourites) and ‘WHAT A FRIEND WE HAVE IN JESUS” as well as many others!

    We also heard personal stories of the flood and the most beautiful letter by Sarah Norman was read to us. Sarah is the daughter of flood victims, Steve & Sandy Matthews. Such faith! The service focused very heavily on 1 Peter 5: 6-7.

    Dale said:-

    “At the place of our ‘inland tsunami’
    we gather to share stories;
    come together as a community;
    and recover in prayer to God.

    “Humble yourselves, therefore,
    under God’s mighty hand….
    Cast all your anxiety on him
    because he cares for you”
    (1 Peter 5:6-7)

    Just how awesome is that, that our council agreed not only that the service could be held in such a public place, but that they took part in it as well? There was the most beautiful huge cross on the edge of the creek, with white chiffon floating from it and an absolutely huge sign with the words of 1 Peter 5:6-7 right in front of it. Awesome!!

    Maybe the revival has begun!!!!!

    Much love and blessings,

    Carolyn
