I know you have received many messages in the past few weeks asking you to pray for the government, and from so many different people, but let me tell you, if there was ever a time our nation needed your prayers, it has to be now.

I have been awake for most part of last night interceding for our nation and I am sure there would have been many more who did the same. How could we sleep at night, when we could even think of the possibility of two atheists running the country.  When I saw Julia Gillard and Bob Brown shaking hands after forming the alliance, I felt sick in my stomach.

I cried out to the Lord, would you let two heathens lead our nation? One living in sin (in a defacto relationship) and the other an openly practicing homosexual.

Would you please storm heaven like never before in the next 3 days in fasting and prayer?  In the next 3 days if you could get a few people together at your home, church or wherever possible and unite in prayer. As we know when two of us shall agree in prayer, what we bind on earth will be bound in heaven, And what we loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.Â

Tonight (3rd of Sep) at the Catch The Fire base at 23 Melverton Dr, Hallam, we will be meeting for prayer at 7.30pm and will be praying throughout the night until 6am. If you live in Melbourne, can you please make every effort to be there and spend whatever time you can with us in prayer?  If not, please meet wherever you can and unite with us in prayer.

I remember in 1999 when Mr Bush was to be elected as President in the US, there was a real battle. I was in Washington DC during that time. Intercessors from all across America came into Florida and fought in the Spirit and saw God give the victory to President Bush. We can do it in Australia!

Thank you for the update. It certainly is a very serious situation our country is in.
I will pray and ask the Lord what is He trying to tell us through all this.
He did allow Israel to be ruled by wicked kings and this caused the nation to cry out and repent and turn back to God. I think of the book of Habbakuk as an encouragement.
I do not want Julia Gillard as prime minister. I am grieved to think an atheist and unmarried couple would live in the Lodge, the home of our top government official. It is very distressing.
However, I do believe this is the south land of the Holy Spirit and God is much bigger than Julia Gillard and the Labour Party.
He will have His way over our nation. “ Lord share Your Heart with Your people as we listen and prayâ€

Interestingly, in Herbert Lockyer’s book “All the prayers of the Bible” scriptures mentioned above is titled: Prayer in National Danger”. I didn’t know this when my devotion reading this morning was 2 chronicles chapter 14 about King Asa.
Yes, we have to come before ALMIGHTY GOD in meekness and humility on our part to plead for His intervention..
Let God’s glory be shown/revealed because His children are praying all over in this land and beyond ( many outside australia are also praying and interceding for us here to have a good and righteous government ). It is a concerted effort so that when victory comes ALMIGHTY GOD gets all the glories…

radical believer, and she has a handful of radical believers who believe enough to defy the Drs reports and

It is not just the independents that are involved! That seems to be the way the media is highlighting what is probably a rear-guard action of Julia Gillard.
I believe that Peter Costello perceptively pointed out in Thursday’s Age that in the ‘hung parliament’ situation, ANY MP will now be tempted to ‘cross the line’ in order to serve THEIR electorate, even in the worst case of pulling down the parliamentary process leading to another unpopular election or increasingly more likely, a double dissolution.
But it need not lead to a double dissolution or election. Consensus government could (with prayer) continue until the next election in three to four years time!!! This would represent a return to federal government as it was before the rise of the greater involvement of political parties and trade unions.
Federal parliament is now starting to look as though it will operate in future like a congregational church where members representatives really can have their say. The ‘executive government’ as defined in the Australian Constitution might once again be permitted to operate in a bi-partisan fashion, reporting to an Australian Chairman. This situation is starting to look a bit like the US presidential setup where the president does not actually ‘have the numbers’ in the lower house.
Meanwhile we evangelical, Bible believing, spirit empowered and informed Christians must surely continue to pray that God’s will be done and that Christians in politics of whatever persuasion will seize the opportunity to act as truly independent representatives, both of their God, and of their electorate. And let us not forget the similar situation that may yet evolve in the senate, as it is here where the rights and responsibilities of the states are supposed to be protected.

Yes, I too felt sick when I saw that hand shake. And also the speeches. It is horrifying to think that our country has been reduced to this. I am also troubled by the number of Christians who do not want to talk about it. How can they be so blind? How can they not see that someone who does not honour God is not responsible to a higher power than themselves. A person who is not responsible to God can become a dictator with the resultant horrors for our country. A very clever dictator who does not really reveal her true agenda! Perhaps we should pray that she will reveal her true agenda before it is too late.

The people of God got to rise up to intercede for a righteous leader to lead this nation. There is already a severe weather warning coming to South Australia, Tasmania and NSW this morning.This is a significant sign that something is happening in the heavenlies over these regions. Recently a bill was being passed in Tasmania lower house giving rights to gay couple to adopt children and more bills will be passed in their favor. This is in direct defiant and breaking of God’s moral laws. As intercessors we need to push through to dismantle the wicked hands of the unrighteous in clinging on to the chair of governing in this land. As mentioned in our earlier emails that we need to pray that the tide will turn in favor of His son (Tony Abbott) by changing the hearts of the 3 Ind. MPs.. Let’s give a final push through in the realm of the spirit in intercession, that God’s will be done here on earth as it is in heaven for this Great Southlands of the Holy Spirit, by tearing down the wicked hands that are elevating this ungodly leader into position of governing.

I haven’t sent an email for some time however I fully agree with the sentiments expressed in the email below by Danny Nalliah and I strongly encourage you to mobilise yourselves and your friends in prayer for our nation. As a nation, we are at a crossroads and now, more than ever, it’s time to put aside our denominational differences and pull together in prayer and brotherly love. Our internal bickering will pale into insignificance compared to the challenges we will face as a church should we lose government support for the free course of the gospel in our nation. That has always been the main issue for Christian voters: which government will provide the most free course for the proclamation of the Gospel? Because as Christians, our vision and aspirations are ultimately eternal and we know that, above everything else, there is no other hope for our world than the gospel of the kingdom.
This week, several news articles have struck me as significant. Firstly I noted that street preaching was banned (temporarily at least) in Rundle Mall in Adelaide, that Tasmania’s lower house of parliament has approved same sex marriages registered in other states or countries, that NSW’s lower house of parliament has approved adoption of children by same sex couples, and then this morning that the world’s best known scientist, Stephen Hawking, has hardened his position (since his book Brief History of Time) and is now adament that there is no place for God in theories on the creation of the universe. All in a week, where Australia’s political future hangs in the balance and where the church has the opportunity and responsibility to rise up and wrestle and resist the tide – not fighting against flesh and blood, of course, but against but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
For those of you who don’t know Danny Nalliah, I first learnt about his ministry when it came under fire over claims he had transgressed the Racial and Religious Tolerance Act for statements he made at a seminar in 2002 (that were claimed to have villified Muslims). Since that time Danny has spoken out for righteousness and justice in our nation and has often been misrepresented by the media. I don’t necessarily agree with everything Ps Danny says but I respect him for having a go, for having a voice, for being ridiculed, and for being faithful to the call on his life. And I thank God that he’s speaking up now and saying what a lot of us feel in our spirits.
Remember how Jesus prayed that we (the church) would be one, as He and the Father are one, and how that would send such a clear message to the world that had God had truly sent Jesus? Now is the time to pull together – praise God. I think of David who had such a love for God’s people that even when he found himself running like an outlaw in the wilderness, being persecuted and maligned by King Saul, that David never let himself get into an attitude or situation where he was fighting against Saul and God’s people. While Saul was hunting him down, David was out fighting their common enemies and sending the spoils back to the tribes of Israel. That is the heart that we must have – no matter our differences, our enemy is not among ourselves and the enemy is not the church in its different forms or denominations – the enemy is the “enemy of our souls” – satan – and the spiritual wickedness that is behind the all-out assault on our nation’s Christian values and the freedom we have to preach the good news about Jesus. Israel found out so many times, to her own demise, that her peace and prosperity was based on her devotion to God. I pray we don’t have to learn the hard way that our nation’s prosperity and peace is also based only on our devotion and respect for God – particularly at a governmental and official level.
Fiona and I will be having a time of prayer and praise at our house on Saturday night (for those of you who are in the Ormeau/northern Gold Coast area) – please let us know if you want to come. The battle is the Lord’s – let’s agree and declare that together and praise Him for who He is. Hallelujah.

Dear Daniel,
I am very aware of the crisis that is occuring in our nation at present and so have been very aware of the need to pray. I hope and pray that in this year of 5770 in the Jewish calendar before their new year starting on eve of 8th September that the year of 70 or ayin in hebrew meaning the eye, that God will put eye salve on our eyes that we may see all the significance of this time and pray. We need to understand God’s Hebrew calendar of events and not just the events on our gregorian calendar.
It is also an important time right now as the muslims are praying and fasting all day, during ramadan which does not end until 10th September.On the Hebrew calendar it was elul 23 yesterday, the anniversary according to the Jewish calendar of September 11 in 2001 when the attack occurred in America and it is the time now just before the 3 Jewish feasts. These 3 feasts are the dress rehearsals of the return of our messiah. These feasts are first the feast of trumpets on evening of 8th September and into the next day. the feast of trumpets speaks of Jesus’ second coming and the coronation of the king and marriage feast of the lamb. It is also the start of the jewish new year which is celebrated this year on eve of September 8th when Jews celebrate and believe that the world began and Adam was created. This day is called Tishri 1 and in reverse this is brsheet meaning in the beginning or Genesis as we know it. The next feast of Yom kippur or the day of atonement starts on eve of 18th September when the sins are repented of by the high priest who goes into the holy of holies. The feast of Tabernacles this year starts on 23rd of September and is the festival of rejoicing for the nations which lasts a week.This celebrates when Jesus will return and tabernacle amongst us. Now back to today.It is the time when Jesus would have been in the wilderness for 40 days fasting and praying. it is also the time when the king is in the field and not just in the palace so, God is now more reachable than ever. The year of jubilee was always declared on yom kippur- the day of atonement. Jubilee means that all will go free.I pray that our nation too will go free from the ravages of ungodly leadership.
If we only look at our christian calendar we miss what God is saying to us at this time of year. Behold Yeshua( Jesus) the coming king. Today I am going to a hebrew roots conference with some of my family in our city, and this will be on also tomorrow. it is shabbat tonight, the start of the sabbath. I hope that christians wake up to the need to get onto God;s hebrew calendar to read the signs of the times.

In the last couple of days we have seen:
a. Labor and the Greens enter an agreement to work together in an alliance in the coming 43rd Federal Parliament. The much publicised signing of the agreement by Julia Gillard – an unbelieving radical feminist in open rebellion to God – and Bob Brown, an atheist who openly flaunts his homosexuality and is keen to see same-sex marriage become a reality – was like a consumation of their deal to share preferences during the election campaign; and
b. Independent Andrew Wilkie, who was elected on preferences as the Member for Denison in Tasmania [ only 13,779 voters out of a total of 67,223 voters gave him their first preference vote ], but who has previously stood for election for the The Greens, has joined the Labor-Greens Alliance.
As a result of those two events Labor now claims to have 74 seats and would need 2 of the remaining 3 undecided Independents [Bob Katter, Tony Windsor, Rob Oakeshott] to give their support to Labor for Labor to reach the 76 seats needed to form a minority government. The Coalition has 73 seats and needs the support of all 3 of the undecided Independents to form a minority government.
If one Independent decides to support Labor and two support the Coalition it will be 75 seats each, with neither party able to form a minority government. I don’t know what happens then!!!
Media indications from the Independents are that they will make their decisions public early next week.
This morning Pastor Daniel Nalliah has called Catch the Fire Ministries folk to 3 days of prayer and fasting over the weekend, and Rev Lynne Klomp has called the Parliamentary Prayer Network (PPN) to serious prayer also over the weekend.
I hereby call you all to join with the PPN members in serious prayer in accordance with the email below and as led by the Holy Spirit,commencing now and through the weekend until the Independents announce their decisions. In the PPN email below the words Confidential Prayer Email mean taking our prayer seriously.

I also know another Pastor and he does not believe we should get involved. He , or at least his wife, a lovely lady, says they are Labor supporters. How can they be happy with these 2 leading our nation?I have sent them all your emails. Only God knows what is in store for us if they come to Govt. My only concern is. Does God have an reason in bringing these people to power? What is His agenda?
But my husband and I pray for a righteous government.How I would love to be with passionate Christians. I believe no matter what you do you should do it with all your heart. This is “of God.”

I have been asking God for someone to prevail in prayer with for the nation, so thank you for the message received via a friend today.
I felt disheartened last night after watching the Sky interview with David Spears and the Independents. The political commentator, Paul Murray afterwards said that he felt they would align with Labor.
All through the campaign and election I have been thinking of the children of Israel marching around the walls of Jericho and shouting the victory before it happened. The shout came before the victory was seen. I pass a small pile of stone rubble each day and it reminds me of the wall coming down.
In my prayers this morning I realised I had thought of the Independents as giants, when in fact they are grasshoppers. When I passed the pile of stones today, I said, “Hallelulujah,” and the car approaching me at the same time had the number plate, “Abbott.” Anyway whether it was a sign from God I can’t say, but I said, “Thank you God,” anyway.
I know this is a critical weekend as the Independents make their decisions, and I will be proclaiming the Lord’s victory.
A humble righteous man (or woman if that was the case), shall rule this nation.

Just want to say thank you for the prayers for our nation. Like you Pastor Danny I feel sick at the thought of Julia Gillard and Bob Brown leading our nation. A lot of us here on the sunshine Coast have been praying.
About 2 weeks ago I felt the Lord drop a scripture into my spirit I Samuel 2 v 2nd half of verse 30 “Those who honour me I will honour, those who depise me will be lightlly esteemed.” I felt God was telling me not ot look at the events on earth but look to Jesus only remind Him of his promise in His word.” which is what I have been doing.
Just in case you answered this and idn’t get a reply we are going away for a week and for the first time in years going without a computer. WE’ll be back in aweek.
