Catch the Fire Ministries has changed its name to Reformation Harvest Fire Ministries

Dear family & friends in Christ,

Firstly, I would like to thank everyone of you for your ongoing prayer support for the nation of Sri Lanka, which appears to have just finished a bloody civil war. It is reported that in the past few months thousands of civilians have died and many more injured due to the horrific fighting in Sri Lanka. The government has declared that they have captured all areas controlled by the rebels (LTTE) and that the war is officially over.

However, now comes this most important season of rebuilding this war-torn region, where hundreds of thousands of people are either displaced or have become refugees. My family members who live in Colombo (the capital city )have shared with me some good news that for possibly the very first time Buddhist monks and other clergyman from other religions, along with people from all different race groups were collecting much needed food, water and other essential supplies for the people in the north of the country.

Repeated announcements are heard on megaphones fixed on trucks, which are driven through the streets calling on people to help the desperate Tamil civilians. I am so happy to say that many Sinhalese people are collecting supplies for the Tamil people. There seems to be a breath of fresh air in Sri Lanka. My sister told me that she heard repeated announcements on television, such as ‘Let’s put the past behind us and live together in unity and rebuild our nation.’

The need to rebuild is a massive task ahead of the government. The churches in Sri Lanka are very actively working amongst these refugee camps to help them and are seeing God’s mighty hand of amazing grace touch many lives with the love of Jesus!
