The Victorian Legislative Council is due to debate the Abortion Law Reform Bill next week (7-9 Oct).
There are several important items we need to highlight.
In this post we cover prayer, a vital part of the battle to defeat the Bill, and action.
Â
1. PRAYER
Please PRAY that the Bill is defeated. Numbers are very close – and we know prayer is the key element in anything we do!
Â
2. PRAYER MEETING/RALLY – Sunday 5 October
PLEASE plan to attend the prayer rally/meeting on the steps of Parliament House – Sunday 5 October 2008. From 1.45 pm to 2.45 pm.
Bring your friends, your pastor, your church!
One church in Mildura is hiring a bus to bring their people to the meeting. Some ministers are bringing their entire congregation! Please join them!
Others who can’t attend are organising a prayer meeting at their country churches at the same time! Can you pray at this time?
Â
3. Matt on the steps of Parliament
Please remember Matt Prince – Kirsten Jack’s brother (Kirsten is the coordinator of CADOA and Sunday’s prayer rally). Matt is currently protesting on the steps of Parliament.
Please pray for him. If you have time available, Matt would welcome your company on the Parliament steps.
Kirsten writes “Matt is a successful businessman with 15 employees and has cancelled his New York business trip to protest every day, from early until late, until the Legislative Council votes on the Abortion Law Reform Bill. His professional 2 metre sign reads: “I just don’t get why unborn kids don’t have rights. I beg you, don’t legalise abortion of 9 month babies”. You can see his pictures/diary/signs at: www.mattsprotest.com
The sign’s wording changes regularly.Â
Read Matt’s blog diary on his website!
