The Secular Humanistic, Islamic, And Interfaith Attempt To Remove Lord’s Prayer From Australian Parliament

Speaker (Harry Jenkins) wants Lords Prayer out of the houseFollowing is an article that appeared all over the Australian Media regarding the Secular Humanistic, Islamic, and Interfaith attempt to remove the daily reading of the Lord’s Prayer from the Australian Parliament.

KEVIN Rudd and Malcolm Turnbull both dismissed calls yesterday to replace the Lord’s Prayer with an acknowledgement of Australia’s traditional Aboriginal owners at the daily opening of federal parliament.

The nation’s peak Muslim group and the Greens have backed moves to change the century-old tradition so as to be more inclusive of all Australians.

House of Representatives speaker Harry Jenkins called for debate about whether the prayer should be rewritten or replaced, saying MPs and the public had raised concerns about its relevance to 21st century Australia.

Mr Jenkins’ comments followed a maiden speech by Independent MP Rob Oakeshott, in which he said he was surprised and disappointed there was no daily recognition of Aborigines.

Australian Federation of Islamic Councils president Ikebal Patel strongly supported opening parliament each day with an acknowledgement of indigenous Australians or a prayer that was “more universal”.

We must keep praying in the Holy Spirit with mighty weapons of spiritual warfare that PM Kevin Rudd will not bow to the politically correct pressure exerted from the Secular Humanistic Ideologies of many politicians within the Labor Party and the Greens, in addition to the Islamic and Interfaith alliance, to remove the Lord’s Prayer from the Australian Parliament!

May our Most High God and victorious King increasingly arise and scatter His enemies in America, Australia, and around the World!

    Dear Danny

So much going on in this world now. No Christian who is familiar with their Bible should be missing the Signs of the End Times.

I find lately I have been so spiritually depressed and finding it hard to find encouragement in this world that the Lord is working in a mighty way desptie what is happening around us. Your Inquiries Emails and seeing in today’s Newspaper, Kevin Rudd, Malcom Turnbull & Warren Truss all agree the Lord’s Prayer is to continue have encouraged me today.

Praise God we will still have the Lord’s Prayer being prayed over our government & over our Nation.

God allows what He allows to happen for a purpose. It looks like Obama will win. However, I TRUST if it happens it is for a greater purpose we do not know of yet as we do not see the future. I pray for our brothers and sisters in America that the Lord will sustain them no matter what.

Meanwhile I rejoice in the simplicity of the Lord’s Prayer that has such power to bring the Lord’s Will into our Nation even if those praying it do not believe.

I totally agree with Milica, that God’s word, spoken, is poweful. It is comforting to know that God has a say in the parliament, especially as we are His creation and He knows best. Keeping the Lord’s Prayer to open parliament is a must. Yours Sincerely, julie L.

It wasnt a “Humanistic, Islamic, And Interfaith Attempt” to remove it, it was the absolute overwhelming majority of the Australian population who cringes every time its read out in our political arena.

The whole story about your imaginary friend in the sky is getting a little old and quite frankly its embarrasing to hear our highly religious politicains rattle on about it.

Milica . . . . your comments about “Signs of the End Times” are a sure sign that you are at the very least . . . clinically insane.
    You’re a mamal . . . get over it.
