Loosed from Chains

Demon possession is a common occurrence in South Asia. In Umed’s case, it was so severe his family kept him chained.
Chains held Umed down. They were the only things that worked to tame the 17-year-old boy when demons took control of his body and gave him unnatural strength.
Umed had chains wrapped around him when Gospel for Asia-supported missionary Aiman Patil met him.
Aiman immediately knew the source of Umed’s suffering and felt moved to share the Gospel with his family. When he did, he helped them understand that Umed’s condition could be healed only through prayer and belief in Jesus Christ, who has the power to deliver people.
Umed’s parents received the word Aiman shared with them, and they asked the missionary to pray for their son’s healing. Aiman and two women missionaries committed to prayer and fasting for Umed, and through their persistent intercession, Umed was freed from his bondage!
Umed’s family—and even the villagers—were astonished to see the transformation. He began attending Aiman’s church fellowship, but his parents were hesitant to join out of fear of what their community and relatives would think.
Aiman and the women missionaries frequently visit Umed and his family, continuing to pour out God’s love and share His Word with them.
They ask for prayer for Umed’s family to follow Jesus holeheartedly.
